I just finished reading Racer a few hours ago and I think I’m still in somewhat of a book hangover. If you haven’t read any of my reviews yet then I’ll let you know that when I read and review a book, I’ll give it an overall star rating but not rate certain elements, I also don’t tend to do in depth reviews as often I think that in depth reviews tend to spoil the story, or at least they do for me.
Reviewing for me is more about what I thought of the book, without going into too much detail, along with what the book made me feel.
Reading is often an escape for me, so I generally tend to focus and rate on accordance with whether the book was able to capture my attention fully and keep me wanting to read without putting it down.
Below you’ll see the cover image of the book (which is one of my favorites from this month’s epic new releases), contact information for the author, the blurb of the book, buy links – to buy the book if you haven’t already and my review.

RACER
A bad boy with something to prove.
A woman with a mission.
The race of their lives.
The love of a lifetime.
I don’t think his parents expected him to live up to his name—Racer Tate—but once he felt the adrenaline rush behind the wheel, he was addicted.
He’s the fastest, fiercest driver around.
Scouting new talent brings me to his doorstep…
but his smile sends me to my knees.
The sexy, mysterious Racer Tate is not the kind of man a girl like me falls for. He’s secretive, reckless, elusive. But his proximity pushes me beyond reason, and his kiss….
This is our last chance to win, and he is our only hope. I’m supposed to watch him—make sure he doesn’t get into trouble. But it’s an impossible task. And now the one in heart wrenching, toe-curling, soul-crushing trouble is me. Because when your heart belongs to someone, their truths become your own, and their secrets become your salvation…or your curse.
He says he wants me. He says I’m the One. But he also thinks he’ll break my heart, one piece at a time until it’s gone.

MY REVIEW OF RACER
Rating: 4 and 1/2 stars
In Racer, the seventh book in Katy Evans ‘Real’ series, readers are introduced to Racer Tate and Alana Heyworth.
In all honesty, I feel it needs to be said that while I have read a few of Katy Evans books over the years, I haven’t read any of the books in her ‘Real’ series since soon after the release of her first book in the series: Real.
It’s a grievous mistake that I’m hoping to soon rectify as I enjoyed reading an advanced reader copy of Racer (generously provided by Social Butterfly PR) so much that I immediately bought and downloaded all of the other books in the series.
With that being said, Racer is a great standalone, contemporary romance book and you really don’t have to have read any other books in the series in order to be thoroughly captivated by this story.
As with many of Katy Evans books that I have read, most especially Real, the descriptions of the characters and setting are so clear and vivid that I can easily picture them in my mind and I feel an instant connectivity with the characters.
This book captured me from the very first page and sped along with me on an adrenaline rushed, emotional journey.
The chemistry between Racer and Lana is undeniable from their first meeting, though Lana does try to deny it, and when Lana and Racer finally do end up together- watch out!- sparks fly and the sex scenes are pure sexy with a dash of scorching.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable book that I’m definitely going to be reading again (when I read all of the new Katy Evans books in the series that I just bought!)
Thanks to Social Butterfly PR (and Katy Evans) for the arc of Racer
